Q&A with Goddard’s Ashton Sell – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by WSU Tech

By Ken Hansard

Recently, VYPE had the privilege to talk to and find out more about Goddard High School athlete Ashton Sell.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

I would like to have a winning season and of course win state. Personally, I would be honored to be selected for All-Metro, the Shrine Bowl, and 1st Team All-League.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

Turning the program around from an 0-9 season to a 5-4 season and all the work we put in to get that far.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

Mr Condray. He has pushed me to be the best I can be and has always had faith in me.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is being able to start both ways last year and this year. We are a platoon team and usually only get to play either offense or defense.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

One teammate of mine that has left the biggest impression on me is my cousin Graceson. We push each other every day and want each other to succeed in everything we do.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite thing about being on the team is we are all family and always support each other in anything we do.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

I would go to Hawaii and take all those close to me along.

VYPE: If we gave you $5000 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

I would spend it on hunting gear and customized stuff for my truck.

VYPE:  What other sports, activities, or community service projects do you participate in, and how have these helped to prepare you for the future?

I play basketball and hunt and fish. I also was able to give back to the community in my Law class and gain community service hours.
