Recently, VYPE had the privilege to talk to and to find out more about Eisenhower High School athlete Nate Hamm.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
I would like to make first team all-league.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
The most fun I have had in the last year was going to a Kansas State football game with my family last fall.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher of all time was my physics teacher, Mr. Morgan. He does a very good job of keeping the class fun and interactive.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is beating Goddard last year. We had felt like the underdogs going in, and it was close the whole game. So it felt great to get the win
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Eric Salcido motivated me a lot to hit the gym and get stronger.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
I love the brotherhood that we have with all of the guys. It makes the game so much fun to go out and play for guys that I love to be around.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would go to Colorado and take my family with me.
VYPE: If we gave you $5000 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would stock up on N.Y. Strip steaks.
VYPE: What other sports, activities, or community service projects do you participate in, and how have these helped to prepare you for the future?
I have wrestled, which has taught me a lot about having a tough mentality. Wrestling is a brutal sport, and in order to succeed, you must develop physical and mental toughness to get through the practices and win matches. I have also helped out framing houses with Habitat for Humanity, which has taught me to have gratitude for the situation that I am in.
